Personal Artwork
This portfolio page is about showing my artworks I made over the years. I created many artworks on my own for fun and started to get better at it. My artworks are usually character design sketches of people, robots, or monsters. Usually, I do it for fun, but I always wanted to make a story using my characters and get recognition by others for it. I worked very hard on making them.
Inspiration
During my childhood years, I always admired the artworks and designs from books, TV, and movies, mainly dinosaurs and cartoons. At a young age, I wasn’t always good at drawing and I asked my parents to show me how to draw good. They were not good at first but they showed me to take it slowly and not to rush it. Since then, I started drawing pictures I see online and try to make it an exact copy of my own. I started drawing on paper and sketching characters. When I got older, I switch to digital using Procreate on my iPad and Adobe Illustrator.
Character Design
For my drawing, I started creating character designs with males and females. The designs of the characters were kind of difficult, so I looked back at some of my childhood anime characters to help give me some reference and rethink my design. Then, I started to customize it to make it look different. The next sketch I made was the armor design. They are based on the Tokusatsu series called Kamen Rider. I always liked the designs and started making my original designs for it. It was very difficult for me to create the helmet and armor designs. I have to make each of them unique and cool looking.
Creature Designs
When I was young, I always liked the design of the creatures such as dinosaurs, dragons, and beasts, seeing them as amazing creatures. Dragons and dinosaurs were my favorites, and I drew many sketches of them. One of my drawings is based on a Yu-Gi-Oh! card called “Number 62: Galaxy-Eyes Prime Photon Dragon. I worked hard on redesigning it in my way and giving it a full artwork of it. I first made it by sketching it on paper. After that, I designed it using Procreate, using the pen and coloring every section of the body. I lowered the opacity of the wings to make them transparent. It took me about a week to complete the drawing and finally finish it. The image next to mine is the original version of the dragon made by Konami.
This is a redesign of a character from one of my childhood anime, called Bakugan. After the release of the rebooted Bakugan series, I was disappointed in the design of the Dragonoid, so I decided to redesign it, taking some inspiration from the classic series, but I made him more dragon-like instead of resembling a wyvern. The next image shows the original version of the Dragonoid.
