My second project is about an event festival called Zeta Animax. It is an anime-theme convention where many people come to meet and cosplay as their favorite characters from movies, shows, or even video games.
Inspiration
The design of the event is based on my childhood experience watching anime. When I was a kid, I always watched anime and started drawing the pictures I saw on TV. My favorite anime series are Yu-Gi-Oh!, Pokemon, Bakugan, and Naruto. These anime series inspired me to draw some of my original characters and create a story for it.
Logo and Name
For my project I wanted to come up with a name to sound great and originally. I looked up many events and festivals to see how they got their names, such as “Anime Expo”, “Comic Con”, and many others. I chose the word Zeta from the Greek Alphabet phrase and combined the two words Anime and Max to form Animax.
For the design of the logo, I looked many Japanese fonts for inspiration and used Adobe Illustrator to create the shape of each letters. The large A is to look similar to the Japanese Gates. Also, instead of just separating the words Zeta and Animax, I combined the two together.
Zeta Animax Posters
The Zeta Animax posters were made to showcase how the event was supposed to take place. The first poster design I created on Adobe Illustrator where I designed the dragon. I also placed the texts on separate areas where they show the event, date, and where the convention will be in.
The second Zeta Animax poster has some characters I designed using Procreate. I also designed the city, Tokyo in the background, along with Mount Fuji.
Deliverables
My next step for Zeta Animax was designing mockups such as tickets, gift bags, and t-shirts. I used many images from Adobe Stocks and started to customize them on Photoshop as if they were actually from Zeta Animax. I started the ticket design using the same dragon from earlier and used the title and the fonts from my poster design. The Bag design was the city I made using Procreate. The T-shirts were made on, and the dragon and phoenix were also created on Procreate. I made website designs on Figma and worked hard on them.
